21. septembra - ki je tudi moj godovni dan (!) - praznuje svoj osemdeseti rojstni dan Leonard Cohen. Glasbenik in pesnik, kantavtor, ki me s svojimi pesmimi spremlja že vse od srede sedemdesetih let ...
Happy Birthday, Leonard!

"... My heart sings of your longing for me, and my thoughts climb down to marvel at your mercy ... Your name is the sweetness of time, and you carry me close into the night, speaking consolations, drawing down lights from the sky, saying, See how the night has no terror for one who remembers the Name."
Leonard Cohen, Book of Mercy, 31.
Knjiga Milosti, 43; prevod Jure Potokar
"... Holy, and shining with a great light, is every living thing, established in this world and
covered with time, until your name is praised forever."
Book of Mercy, 43
Knjiga Milosti, 24; prevod Jure Potokar
"... Lift me up with a new heart, with an old memory, (...), tangible music shining between the hidden and the perceived, ..."
Book of Mercy, 24
"... I said to my will, ‘Come, let us make ourselves ready to be touched by the angel of song'..."
Book of Mercy, 4
Knjiga Milosti, 4; prevod Jure Potokar
V zadnjih dneh poslušam med vožnjo v avtu Cohenov album Old Ideas.
"We find ourselves on different sides
Of a line that nobody drew
Though it all may be one in the higher eye
Down here where we live it is two ..."

Danes (21. 9.) so me verzi Cohenove pesmi The Darkness spomnili na akril, ki sem ga naslikal pred dnevi ...
"I caught the darkness,
It was drinking from your cup.
...
I got no future,
I know my days are few.
The presence not that pleasant,
Just a lot of things to do.
I thought the past would last me
But the darkness got that too.
I should’ve seen it coming
It was right behind your eyes.
You were young and it was summer
I just had to take a dive.
