Na fotografiji spodaj stoji poleg mene Kriemhild Linda Retter, moja dolgoletna prijateljica iz Stuttgarta, ki je razstavo organizirala in ob odprtju tudi predstavila s svojim govorom. Pred tem mi je, skupaj z mojo ženo Tejo, razstavo tudi pomagala postaviti.

There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken hallelujah
Leonard Cohen's song "Hallelujah" leads us directly to the picture, which is on the flyer and poster for the exhibition, which we are opening today: King David.
He turns his face toward the sun. The head crowned.
King David!
The rays of his crown are the light of the light.
Amazing grace. Everything is immersed in gold.
Here shines the grace, which a man receives from the divine life-stream.
David reaches into the strings of his harp.
Red glow and blue night are his dress.
Praise in heart, hand and mouth,
In sacred or broken Hallelujah.
"King David", one of the Biblical illustrations, painted in 2003 and published as cover of a book of Biblical poems by Stanko Janežič: " KLICANJE "/" CALLING ".
"Love is the main theme of my art", says the artist. Love in manifold form, Agape, Eros, Passion.
There are also shadows. "The holy or the broken Hallelujah" (L. Cohen). But Love overcomes them...

Nekaj utrinkov z odprtja razstave (16. julij 2017) / Some impressions of the exhibition opening (July 16th, 2017)
"... Seine Bildträger sind Leinwand und Papier, auch Holz und Glas, umfassen kleine intime wie auch raumgreifende Formate. Gedichtbände illustriert er mit gestischer Hand, malt Bilderzyklen der Hoffnung, setzt biblische Botschaft ins Bild, bündelt Licht und schafft visuelle Identitätssymbole.
Bilder können Fenster sein. Bilder können Spiegel sein, in die wir schauen, Bild gewordene Worte und Berührungen. Leise Zartheit und dynamische Kraft treten in einen Dialog in immer neuen Farbspurvariationen.
Auge und Herz, Sterne, Mond und Sonnen, ein Vogel, der sich zum Licht erhebt, ein Antlitz, das zur Andacht führt, wie eine Verheißung. Himmel und Erde treten in Beziehung. Diese Bilder schenken Wegbegleitung. Der Segen leuchtet.
Es erfüllt Matej Metlikovič mit besonderer Freude, eine Auswahl seiner Werke im Stift Urach zeigen zu dürfen, dem einstigen Wirkungsort des großen slowenischen Sprachgestalters und Kirchenreformators Primus Truber.
Matej Metlikovič wird bei der Vernissage seiner Ausstellung am 16. Juli und beim Stiftsfest am 10. September anwesend sein. Wir heißen ihn und seine Kunst im Stift Urach herzlich willkommen."
